Be Obedient (Genesis 12-25)
By Warren W. Wiersbe / David C. Cook

We are called to live a life obedient to God. But what does that look like? And how can we live in a way that is pleasing to him? The answer is found in faith. Long considered the author of faith, Abraham sets the standard for what it means to be obedient. The book of Genesis holds the remarkable story of Abraham, a man who would give birth to a nation and make the way for our saviour. Be Obedient: Genesis 12-25 has now been updated with study questions and a new introduction. In  this book you will find insights and wisdom on pursuing an obedient life from the life of the great patriarch Abraham.

The patriarchs are foundational in studying scripture. Lessons 1 and 2 are an overview of Ch. 1 through 11. Gen. 12 begins the life of Abraham, who is mentioned 65 times in the NT. His faith and obedience to God were strong; yet, he battled with the problems and temptations common to all God’s people. He received God’s promise of a nation and a Savior. His son Isaac inherited those promises, as well as Jacob and his son Joseph. The lives of these 4 great Patriarchs illustrate basic problems that relate to our life today.

042226: Where I Am: Heaven, Eternity, and Our Life Beyond the Now

Where I Am: Heaven, Eternity, and Our Life Beyond the Now
By Billy Graham / Thomas Nelson

Shortly after his 95th birthday in 2013, Mr. Graham, knowing that his time on earth draws to a close, declared,”When I die, tell others that I’ve gone to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ–that’s where I am.”

In this latest reflection, Mr. Graham shares the same message of hope he’s proclaimed for decades, coupled with the sober reflection of a mature faith. In each of these short 36 chapters, he explains what the Bible says about eternity, and the reality that each of us chooses where we’ll spend life after death. Whether you’re drawing closer to that moment of eternal significance, or simply considering the Bible’s claims, Graham’s words will give you faith to believe in Jesus’ promise that, “Where I am, there you may be also.”
