  8. A ship is launched when it is ready.
  9. From seeing the need, to concept,
  10. to planning, to hard work, and on to launching.
  11. A mother’s job is to love and launch her child.
  12. Human birth is a picture of the launching process.
  13. The child begins life near the mother’s heart — protected, growing and developing.
  14. Eventually, birth will come and that which has been conceived will be launched.
  15. Moses’ mother launched her precious son down the Nile toward his life’s mission.
  16. (This however, was symbolic, for he was given back to her to nurture until his real time had come.)
  17. Hannah took her young son Samuel to the Temple to fulfill his mission.
  18. Jesus was ready to be launched at 12 yrs. old, but he humbled himself in submission to his parents until God’s time.
  19. Mary understood she would have to let go of her Son & give Him to His destiny – painful!.
  20. Birthing is painful – it is the act of pushing something away.
  21. The mother’s heart is deserted.
  22. The womb is left behind.
  23. That child, which is birthed will have its own journey to embark.
  24. This may be a human child, a project, a campaign, a ministry or even a movement.
  25. The mother has a role for a season.
  26. She protects, nurtures and trains.
  27. At some point the child takes on a life of its own & is only influenced by the our training.
  28. John Wesley had to make a choice to let go of total control, and train students to preach. His mother convinced him to launch students.
  29. The mother is left behind, not forgotten but no longer holding or protecting.
  30. “A woman, when she gives birth to a child, has grief (anguish, agony) because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she no longer remembers her pain (trouble, anguish) because she is so glad that a man (a child, a human being) has been born into the world.” John 16:21 (AMP)
  31. Sometimes there is Failure to Launch
  32. Some babies don’t want to launch.
  33. Mother birds put them out or even put thorns in the nest.
  34. “Pain has come to the people like the pain of childbirth, but they are like a child who resists being born. The moment of birth has arrived, but they stay in the womb!”
  35. Hos 13:13 (NLT)
  36. “You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food.” Heb 5:12
  37. Some mothers don’t want to let go.
  38. In such cases, the child may start putting thorns in the nest.
  39. Ministry leaders shouldn’t give their charges responsibility too early, but sometimes they can’t let go when God’s time comes.
  40. We cannot keep what is God’s to lead – God has plans for them that do not include us.
  41. John the Baptist allowed his followers to move on to Jesus as their new teacher.
  42. He understood his part was done in their journey.
  43. Like Mothers, ministers feel the pain of their students ‘moving on.’
  44. But, it is often, just God’s path for them.

  50. Honor Your Mother & Father
  51. We honor our parents, not with gifts, but by our character – by the people we grow up to be.
  52. Mary is blessed above all mothers because her son is a man of exceptional character.
  53. A great ministry honors its founder by its character.
  54. “A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish man despises his mother.” Proverbs 15:20
  55. “Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching,” Proverbs 1:8
  56. It is the duty of the offspring to return to and honor their parents.
  57. A child returns to honor its parents
  58. A ministry or nation returns to honor its founders
  59. A student returns to honor his teacher/mentor
  60. And the Church returns to Honor the Cross of Jesus Christ.
  61. The cross launched the Church, and in return She must forever embrace & honor that exact moment and act that gave Her life.
  62. “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” 1 Cor 2:2
  63. “But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ…” Gal 6:14
  64. We owe it to Jesus to preach the CROSS every time we preach.
  65. Travail is the Cost of a Life Giving Ministry
  66. “It will be like a woman suffering the pains of labor. When her child is born, her anguish gives way to JOY because she has brought a new baby into the world.” John 16:21
  67. “Let us keep looking to Jesus… He did not give up when He had to suffer shame and die on a cross. He knew of the JOY that would be His later…” Heb 12:2
  68. Jesus launched the Church through the painful process of death and resurrection.
  69. We are called to birth souls & even revivals in this generation. It will require labor. This may be in the form of evangelism, prayer & fasting, loss & betrayal – but it will all be forgotten if souls are saved.
  70. Andrew Strom, a well-known student of Christian Revivals says:
  71. “Revival history shows again and again that if there are two key elements to obtaining true Revival, they would have to be DEEP REPENTANCE and AGONIZING’ PRAYER. “
  72. The Church must give birth to revival and then let God lead it where He wills.
  73. Charles Finney Said:
  74. “Revival is no more a miracle than a crop of wheat. Revival comes from heaven when heroic souls enter the conflict determined to win or die – or if need be, to win and die! ‘The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the VIOLENT take it by force.'”
  75. John Wesley said:
  76. “Have you any days of fasting and prayer? Storm the throne of grace and persevere therein, and mercy will come down.”
  77. Birth requires travail. What are we birthing, what stage are we at: Seeing the need, planning, hard work, repentance, labor in prayer?
  78. Next Slide  Song: Use Me
  79. John Wesley Said:
  80. “…the preacher was describing the change which God works in the heart through faith in Christ and I felt my heart strangely warmed.”
  81. Jesus makes His presence Known by a small voice!
  82. What is the Sinner‘s Prayer?
  83. A prayer of faith  Pray this prayer if :
  84. You want to set an example & show others how it is done
  85. You just like to give your heart to Jesus again & again
  86. We Declare Our Faith Publicly Because Jesus Declared His LOVE Publicly

  89. Do you believe He died to save you from your sins & that He rose from the dead?
  90. Do you believe that He is here, waiting to save you right now?
  91. The Prayer of a Sinner Turning to Jesus
  92. Dear Jesus, I know that I have sinned against You and that my sins separate me from You.
  93. I am truly sorry.
  94. Right now, I turn away from my sinful past .
  95. Please forgive me, and help me to keep from sin.
  96. I believe You died for my sins.
