  • Free PowerPoint Sermon: Leave it On the Field for Jesus

The expression, “Leave it on the field” means players should completely spend themselves in service to their coach and team. All that is in them should be left on the field!!!

Our coach is Jesus and our field is the World—are we prepared to spend ourselves in His service?

Devotion:

A Soldier & Jesus

A soldier leaves home to serve in foreign lands.

Jesus left his Heavenly home to serve ungrateful men on Earth.

A soldier spends time training and serving.
Jesus grew, learned and taught.

A soldier faces his fears right before the battle and then he goes forward.
Jesus spent a night in the Garden praying for a way of deliverance. There was none, so He went forward.

A soldier is willing to lay down His life so that others may have freedom.
Jesus laid down His life to win our freedom from sin.

A soldier faces the enemy at the front.
Jesus faced man’s sin and God’s judgment on the cross.

A soldier often bears the wounds of war in his body.
Jesus bears scars on His hands and side – the wounds of war.

A soldier returns home alive or in a coffin.
Jesus suffered, died, faced Hell, was raised from the dead and returned to His Father in Heaven.

A heroic soldier is given a Medal of Honor.
Jesus is seated upon a throne for every knee to bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord!

A wounded soldier is given a Purple Heart.
Jesus should be given the grateful hearts of us all.

Lord Jesus, I bow before your throne & give you my grateful heart!
