n  Faith of Our Fathers & Mothers

n  About Generational Faith – It is…

n  Bought | Taught   | Caught | Fought

n  “But from everlasting to everlasting, the LORD’s mercy is on those who fear him. His righteousness belongs to their children and grandchildren.” Ps. 103:17

n  The faith of our fathers & mothers is BOUGHT.

n  “…and at the cost of your own blood you have purchased for God persons from every tribe, language, people, and nation.” Rev. 5:

n  God has no grandchildren; we must all embrace our own faith.

n  There is an inheritance of promise to the children of the faithful.

n  “I will make My agreement between Me and you and your children after you through their whole lives for all time. I will be God to you and to your children’s children after you.”   Gen. 17:7

n  “See, I am going to the people of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you…” Ex. 3:13

n  Long after they have left home, God continues to send His ministers to the children of the faithful.

n  But, it is an Inheritance dependent upon the heart of the child to embrace his parent’s promised blessings.

n  “How long will you wait before going in to take the land the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?” Josh. 18:3

n  “I have chosen him so he would command his children and his descendants to live the way the Lord wants them to, to live right… Gen. 18:19

n  “Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up.” Deut. 11:19.

n  “…But we will tell the children-to-come the praises of the Lord, and of His power and the great things He has done… So the children-to-come might know, even the children yet to be born. So they may rise up and tell it to their children…” Ps. 78:4-6

n  “But you, Timothy, must keep on doing the things you have learned. You know they are right. You know who taught them to you.

n  The Faith of our Fathers & Mothers is CAUGHT.

n  “Elijah took off his coat, folded it, and hit the water with it. The water separated to the right and to the left. Then Elijah and Elisha crossed the river on dry ground.” 2 Kings 2:8

n  “Elijah’s coat had fallen to the ground, so Elisha picked it up. He went back and stood at the edge of the Jordan River. He hit the water and said, “Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?.”

n  2 Kings 2:13, 14

n  “I remember your honest and true faith. It was alive first in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice. And I am certain that it is now alive in you also.”

n  2 Tim.1:5

n  “She must be known for the good she has done: raising children, welcoming travelers into her home, serving the needs of God’s people, helping those in trouble, and using her life to do all kinds of good.” 1 Tim. 5:10

n  “Show that you hear me and be kind to me. I am your servant, so give me strength. I am your slave, as my mother was, so save me!” Ps. 86:16

n  The Faith of our Fathers & Mothers Will Be FOUGHT.

n  “From my earliest youth my enemies have persecuted me, but they have never defeated me.” Ps. 129:2

n  “We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We often don’t know what to do, but we don’t give up.” 2 Cor. 4:8, 9

  • Free PowerPoint Sermon: YOU Turn – Repentance is a Choice:

“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, ‘Repent.” Mat. 4:17.
The OT prophets, John the Baptist, Jesus and His disciples considered ‘repentance’ to be their primary message.
Perhaps it is time to reacquaint ourselves with this essential truth.

  • Field Preaching

Every believer is called to preach the gospel — it is our “Great Commission,” the final decree of our Savior. Obedience to the Great Commission and our personal transformation into the image of Christ are the reasons we continue on Earth. Let us pursue both wholeheartedly.

  • Free PowerPoint Sermon: How Great is Our SMALL God – Thanksgiving for Small Blessings

There is nothing small about our God; His crumbs are as great as His full loaves; His whispers are as mighty as His shouts, and His tender touch is as moving as an earthquake. Often, we fail to see His glory because we are looking too high. Look for Him in the everyday, small things.

  • Free PowerPoint Sermons: Strong to the Finish Parts 1, 2 & 3 (Including, Signs of a Dying Church)

Using Christ’s messages to the seven churches (book of Revelation) and Paul’s metaphor of running a race, this three-part series explains why a dying church is not one that is losing members, but rather, one that is losing zeal and focus on our God-given mission. Lesson three features a very inspiring song (written by a young girl) called “Voice of the Martyrs.”

  • Free PowerPoint Sermon: Damaged Goods

God has no problem receiving damaged goods. He is in the business of mending, not discarding those who come to Him.

  • Video: What is a Father

  • Free PowerPoint Sermon: Crown Him, Crown Him

The core truth of the gospel is that the Lord of Heaven and Earth abased Himself to save the object of His love—mankind. His Crown tells the story. He laid it aside only to be given a cruel crown of thorns in its stead. But, that is not the end of the story, is it!?
